Animal House
Released in 1978, the story of "Animal House" is about a college fraternity and their wild, wild antics while all the time, the college dean is trying to shut down their fraternity. Originally, the film was to be about Charles Mason, an American criminal who set up a semi-commune. It is set during the time period of 1962. Though the fraternity is based off of the Alpha Delta Phi at Dartmouth, the filming took place at the University of Oregon. It became the second most popular film in 1978 and has been thought of as one of the classic comedy films of all time. It spawned a generation of comedy films and comedian actors. The movie also was the basis for a television series titled "Delta House", but was cancelled only after three months. "Animal House" boosted the careers of many actors such as Kevin Bacon, and John Belushi.
